For all alumni

Kyoto University Yushinkai

The Kyoto University Yushinkai is a social organization of alumni, undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, and emeriti professors of the Faculty of Law, Kyoto University. It also functions as an alumni association. The membership includes about 24,500 alumni. We have five branches in the Kinki, Tokai, Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Hiroshima areas, as well as a liaison office in Hokkaido, with each branch organizing a branch general meeting every two or three years. These are attended by faculty members to deepen friendships. Moreover, once every three years, we hold a general meeting called the Pan-Yushinkai Meeting in Kyoto.
The Kyoto University Yushinkai was established in April 1921 (Taisho 10). The name was chosen by Professor Yorozu Oda from the proverb hoyu yushin (“friends build stronger bonds by trusting each other”). The Kyoto University Yushinkai Song was adopted in 1943 (Showa 18), and the Yushinkai Bulletin started publication in 1954 (Showa 29). Additionally, the Yushinkai conducts welcome parties for new students, social trips for faculty and students, and the creation of graduation albums and member registers.
