For all alumni

The members of the Shirankai are graduates and current students of the Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University, and graduates of the Medical College Attached to Kyoto University, as well as faculty members and researchers at the Faculty of Medicine who come from other universities and faculties (approximately 14,000 members). The purpose of the association is to contribute to the development of medical science in Japan by offering social training for its members, providing subsidies for medical education and research, encouraging medical students to study and receive excellent education, and disseminating medical knowledge. To achieve these objectives, we provide various grants for the promotion of medicine, establish and operate the International House (Shiran Kaikan Annex), and publish the Shiran Newsletter and the Shiran Members List. Moreover, the association has 42 branches nationwide, each organizing academic lectures and other activities.
