For all alumni

Taiwan Yoshida Kai

    Dajia hao!

The Taiwan Yoshida kai is a Kyoto University alumni association centered on Japanese alumni in Taiwan, a sister of the alumni association centered on Taiwanese alumni. Our members include both expatriates and academics in Taiwan, ranging in age from 1970s graduates to, more recently, 2010s graduates.

Our main activities are social gatherings held several times a year, but enthusiasts also get together from time to time to take advantage of the many good golf courses in Taiwan, enjoying the golf life. At the social gatherings, we excitedly talk about all kinds of trivial matters, like boarding houses, shops, and clubs, showcasing “former Kyoto University students” who are active in their respective worlds but still remain as they were.

In Taiwan, said to be one of the countries that best handled the COVID-19 pandemic, we held a social gathering with little trouble at all in 2020, but it was not so easy to gather in 2021 and 2022. Nevertheless, we managed to get through it by sharing information about vaccines and border control.

The expatriate members inevitably change over time, but even so, we welcome new members every year and keep having fun meetings.

To all the alumni coming to work in Taiwan, let’s enjoy Taiwanese life together!
