Kyoto University Washington DC Alumni
The Kyoto University Washington D.C. Alumni is an alumni association consisting of Kyoto University alumni living in and around Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. Since the Japanese embassy, U.S. government agencies, international organizations, various research institutes, and related organizations can be found in this area, many Kyoto University alumni are embassy staff, seconded from Japan or directly employed, and expatriates at the Washington offices of Japanese companies. We build friendships, socialize, and exchange information among these alumni of varied backgrounds and their families through social gatherings and other events. Moreover, we support Kyoto University’s collaborative initiatives, including the University’s short-term study abroad program, and the activities of the Kyoto University North American Center. We also work to facilitate exchanges with Kyoto University alumni in other cities in the East Coast, such as the New York Rakuyukai.
